  • What is FacesofLyme LymeTalk?
FacesofLyme LymeTalk is an online community, where members can ask for, and give recommendations, advice and comments on Lyme Disease topics. FacesofLyme LymeTalk strives to make our community a safe and enriching place by encouraging everyone to conduct themselves with a high degree of integrity and respect. It is likely that someone could benefit from your knowledge, opinions, or personal experiences. Sharing what you know is one of many ways you can make a positive contribution to the FacesofLyme community. FacesofLyme is for educational use only and is not intended as medical advice.   • Do I need to register on FacesofLyme to use LymeTalk?
You are welcome to view all questions and responses on FacesofLyme LymeTalk without signing up with us. If you would like to ask questions or respond to questions, you will need to register
 
  • How do I ask a question?
When asking a question, you can categorize your question by topic and in your home town which makes it easier for others to find your question and answer it. Be sure to make your question's title descriptive, so that other users will understand what you are asking. You will get more and better answers when others can clearly make out what you're asking. A great thing about LymeTalk is that you can either ask a general question or a question that relates to a particular city. Click here to ask a question.
 
  • How do I respond to a question?
You can respond to any question you see on LymeTalk. It's a great place to help others in your home town that are asking for information about local services, and about general Lyme Disease topics. Just click on "Respond" under any question that you would like to offer your opinions or comments to.
 
  • Are my questions and responses publicly viewable?
Yes. All questions and responses are viewable by the public. Your photo and profile information are posted with your question or response. It's easy to quickly post on LymeTalk. Just remember anyone can read your questions and responses.
 
  • Will I be notified by email when someone answers my question?
Yes. You will be emailed as soon a FacesofLyme member replies to your question. Additionally, when you log back in to FacesofLyme, you will have a notification letting you know that you have responses to your questions.
 
  • Can I request not to receive emails when a user answers my questions?
Yes. If you do not want email notifications for particular questions, you can turn off individual question notifications or if you do not want email notifications for any question, you can turn this off as well.
To turn off individual question email notifications, go to your Private Profile Page and click on LymeTalk. Under each question, click on "Stop getting emails for this LymeTalk" and you will no longer receive emails for this question.
To turn off email notifications for all of LymeTalk, go to your Private Profile Page and click on "My Account". Click on "Manage Your Email" and then click on "Manage Email Preferences". Click on the check box next to: Do not send me any emails about LymeTalk conversations. If at a future date you would like to again receive emails about LymeTalk, simply uncheck this box.
 
  • Can other users view my questions in my Public Profile Pages?
Yes. All of your questions and responses can be viewed by all users in your Public Profile Pages by clicking on your tab, LymeTalk.
 
  • Can I delete my questions in my Private Profile Pages?
Yes. All of your questions and responses can be viewed on your Private Profile Pages by clicking on your tab, LymeTalk (click on About Me to go to your Private Profile Pages when logged in). On these pages you can delete your questions or responses, view responses and request to stop getting emails for this LymeTalk conversation.
 
  • Another user is asking for my personal contact information. Is this safe?
You need to take the same precautions on FacesofLyme that you would on any other online site. Don't share your personal contact information, address, private email address or any other identifying information.
 
  • Can I suggest other categories for LymeTalk?
Yes. On the LymeTalk landing page below the categories, click on the button "Suggest A Category" and let us know what you would like to see on LymeTalk.
 
  • How do I report questionable content to FacesofLyme?
We're committed to doing our best to stop abuse on LymeTalk and with your help we can make a difference. At the bottom of every question or response we provide a link called "Flag LymeTalk". Just click on this link and fill out the form. Please provide information about the question or response and the reason you find the content questionable. We encourage you to use this link whenever you see questionable content posted to the site.
 
  • What's not OK on FacesofLyme LymeTalk?
There are just a few guidelines that we ask everyone to abide by to make FacesofLyme LymeTalk a fun and productive place to exchange ideas.
  • You may not use FacesofLyme LymeTalk for commercial or advertising purposes.
  • You may not post content which infringes the intellectual property, privacy or other rights of third parties.
  • Do not post sexually explicit and vulgar language or images.
  • You may not ask anyone to divulge their personal or financial information.
  • You may not use profane, abusive, obscene, racist, slanderous, hateful, threatening, or sexually-oriented language in your posts.
  • You may not not post anything that may violate applicable laws.
  • Please refrain from repeated postings of similar or identical content. Multiple identical postings, even if legitimate, may be considered spam.
  • Children under the age of 13 are not permitted to ask or answer questions on LymeTalk.
  • Don't post things that are incomprehensible or in other languages other than English.
  • Don't post links to sites that contain viruses or malicious programs or that interfere with the operation of FacesofLyme!
  • Be responsible and don't misrepresent yourself or give advice in a way that might cause someone harm.
FacesofLyme LymeTalk will not edit the content of posts. However, we reserve the right to delete any questions or responses that we feel are not appropriate, with or without cause. Depending on the level of offense, you may risk deactivation of your FacesofLyme account.
