MidTNLymie1's Lyme Disease Story

Bite - 8/2008: removed tick and 36hrs later - Bulls-eye rash with onset of symptoms: MIGRAINE, minor fever, full body muscle aches, nausea. ER: lumbar puncture; diagnoses - Lyme disease with questionable Rocky Mountain Fever. Elisa test - Neg., treatment Oral Doxy 200mg BID, for 7 days. Result - symptom free. Late Spring 2009; flareup of symptoms - Elisa test - Neg., treatment Oral Doxy 200mg BID for 14 days. Result - symptom free. Summer 2010; flareup of symptoms - Elisa test - Neg., treatment Oral Doxy 100mg BID for 3 months. 9/2011 - Major Flareup - Elisa Test Negative. I heard about a western blot test and requested - Western Blot IGg, and IGm - both Postive. Doxy 100mg BID. After 7 months symptoms advancing to now include neurological issues. Referred from primary to an Infectious disease Dr. Once re-confirmed lab work - dosed IV Rocephrin for 6 weeks, By week 4 started to have more energy. By week 5, symptoms are holding, Week 6 - feeling better than I have felt in a year. Currently in first week off antibiotics - feel like I've been beaten with a baseball bat.
